Initation

This illustration shows my passion for mythology and archetypes. In this case initiating Shaman, Sage or Seer. The initiation of adolescent boys was common in indigenous cultures around the world, but now we have almost completely lost this tradition. It's not surprising, since the purpose of this ritual was to introduce the boy to the world of men by separating him from the world of the mother, very often in a brutal way.
